2025 was highlighted by a key milestone in matching an association-high number of teams and players that had not been reached since 2019. This is a key result of our goal to make fastpitch softball accessible to all Bloomington girls. Additionally, 2025 was instrumental in moving forward important facility improvements as part of a partnership with the City of Bloomington and The Toro Company to refurbish Dred Scott Fields 3 & 4 (in progress). The city has also re-graded and updated foul lines for fields in the Dred Scott wheel to better support premier fields in Bloomington. BFA added community events in 2025 and helped lead a community clean-up event at Dred Scott with the city and The Toro Company and making softball fun as part of an art installation at the Bloomington Street Art Festival. On the field and in the off-season, 2025 was focused on skill position development through new clinics, collegiate and private coaches, and making personal development more readily available for all players. Finally, we added more flexibility to families through tweaks to the fundraising requirements and rewarding additional volunteer hours to assistant coaches and team managers.
