10U & Up

Why are the fees different?

  • Beginning at 10U, BFA pays a registration fee to Minnesota Softball for each team.  This league fee is included in the BFA registration fees. Part of this fee pays for umpires (no umpires at 8U).
  • The fall season is shorter and there is only one tournament: State.

What is the time commitment?

  • Anticipate 2-3 practices per week at 1-1/2 to 2 hours in length.
  • Practices are held at the Dred Scott, Olson Middle School, Washburn or Kelly.
  • Coaches determine practice days, time and location.

League games:

  • Two (2) games against a different team each game.  The games are 65 minutes each and are played at 12pm and 1:30pm or at 3:00pm and 4:30pm.  Coaches generally require players to arrive 45-60 minutes before game time to warm-up.

  • Tournament play consists of Fall State Tournament.   Coaches generally ask players to arrive 45-60 minutes early to warm-up.

Where are the games?
Games are played at communities that agree to host fall games.  Travel can extend throughout the metro area.  Game sites may be as close as Eden Prairie or Prior Lake but be prepared for travel outside the Metro area also, i.e. Owatonna, Rochester, Elk River.
