The BFA In-House Program aims to expose girls ages 5-7 to the game of fastpitch while keeping it fun, local, and affordable. Our goal is to get as many girls to love the game of fastpitch as possible while providing a structured experience where the girls will be introduced to and learn the basics of the game. Like our traveling program, it is a volunteer-run organization that relies on its members to help facilitate a successful season. Head and assistant coaches will be selected from parents of players registered for the In-House program.

BFA follows USA and MN Softball age division requirements.
For Summer 2024, players born on or after September 1, 2015, are eligible to play 7U In-House.
BFA In-House League is not affiliated with any external league. All 7U players from Bloomington are welcome.
All games will be at fields in Bloomington.
BFA In-House Softball Rules are based on the 8U Minnesota Softball and USA Softball rules, with a few adjustments to better deliver an introductory experience to softball for younger players.
With the educational nature of a 7U In-House League, we are able to do our best to organize teams around friend requests. Teams will be balanced to the extent possible, though there are no formal evaluations.
Each team will consist of one Head Coach and no more than two named Assistant Coaches. Coaches will receive all the necessary training, support, and equipment for a successful season.
All head coaches will be reimbursed one child’s registration fee at the end of the season. All coaches will receive 3 hours of volunteer credits.
BFA will provide the following for the players:
Parents are required to provide the following for their player:
Because of the age level of the players we require one responsible adult to be present due to safety reasons. In addition, the team relies heavily on volunteer help at practices and games to have a successful and smooth season. The head and assistant coaches are there to instruct and lead the girls but will need help from as many parents as possible to ensure the practices are fun and moving at a healthy pace for this age group. This ‘it takes a village culture’ is one of the many reasons BFA is a successfully run organization.
Please refer to the BFA Parent Handbook for volunteering and fundraising requirements details.
